No fewer than 5,155 students will receive their first degree certificates during the 27th
Addressing the press during the pre-convocation briefing, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barineme Fakae said that seven of the graduating students bagged First Class Honours.
A further breakdown showed that 376 graduands got Second Class Upper while 2,508 got Second Class Lower and 1783 Third Class while 481 graduated with Pass.
He disclosed that 445 graduates bagged higher degrees in various disciplines as follows: MSC Law, 50; Education, 25; Philosophy, 26; Science, 35; Technical and Sciences, 35; MBA, 41; PGD, 203 and PHD, 26.
The Vice-Chancellor, who congratulated the graduands for the successful completion of their academic studies, disclosed that they were found worthy both in character and learning to deserve the degrees of the University, encouraging them to be worthy ambassadors of their Alma Mata and wished them success in their future endeavours.
Fakae said that the institution has successfully implemented an online examinations system which was introduced to remove irregularities and difficulties associated with manual examinations.
The VC also announced the appointment of three emeritus professors after a four months thorough online assessment and approval of the institution’s senate.
