NUC Issues Full Operational Licence To Rhema University Aba
The Rhema University, Aba, Nigeria has been accorded Full Operational Status by the National Universities Commission.
The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Prof. Julius Okojie presented the certificate to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. O.C. Onwudike at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, 26th August, 2015.
The certificate was issued to the University after confirming that Rhema University has met all the requirements stipulated by law.
It reads in part as follows: “having fulfilled the requirements laid down in Education, (National Minimum Standards and Establishment of Institutions) Act, Cap E3 Law of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 and completed the required post-probation period, (Rhema University) is fully licensed to operate as a private University in Nigeria”.
Rhema University degree programmes were earlier accredited by the NUC in 2013.
Currently, the University offers bachelors’ degree programmes in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Computer Science, Applied and Industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, Accounting , Banking and Finance, Economics, Mass Communication, and Political Science/Public Administration. Rhema University has also been certified by the National Broadcasting Commission of Nigeria (NBC) to operate a Campus Radio Station which currently transmits on 93.3 Frequency Modulated Band for the training of its Mass Communication students.
