OOU Ago-Iwoye Graduates 43 First Class Students.
A total of 5,809 students will receive various degree certificates during the combined 2014/2015, 2015/2016 Convocation ceremony of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, scheduled for Tuesday, 31st January, 2017.
Addressing newsmen ahead of the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Saburi Adesanya said 43 students graduated with First Class degrees.
In a further breakdown of the results, the VC said that 811 graduates made the Second Class Upper with another 1, 192 graduand in the Third Class honours category, while 20 others had Pass.
Prof. Adesanya added that the institution will graduate 41 PhD students during the ceremony that also doubles as the 35th anniversary of the university.
The VC disclosed that the university senate has approved the introduction of new programmes such as Bsc. Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Estate Management, Building Technology, Radiology and Music.
He said the facilities and manpower for the new programmes are already on ground while the consultation is ongoing with the National University Commission (NUC) to enable commence teaching of those courses by next academic session.
Adesanya, however, lamented that the institution’s Islamic studies (Education), Christian Religious Knowledge (Education) and History (Education) have not been accredited by the NUC.
