The National Teachers Institute (NTI), Kaduna has commenced an enhanced Mathematics and Science teacher training programmes with a view to arresting the failure rate of students at Ordinary Level examinations in those subjects.
Director-General of the institute, Dr Aminu Ladan Sharehu, who made this disclosure while opening a Course Facilitators and Centre Managers Train-the-Trainers workshop, said that the new programmes were meant to improve the quality of teachers in the country.
He said they expect the participants to adequately impact on the students across the country through strategic learning and teaching techniques.
