NTI Admits 40,736 Students Nationwide for 2016.
The National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) has admitted a total of 40,738 students for the 2015/2016 academic session, during a matriculation ceremony which was held simultaneously in all the states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In a statement issued by the Director General of NTI, Dr. Aminu Sharehu, the new students were charged to take their studies seriously.
The DG stated that the matriculated students were 14, 807 Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), 19, 878 National Certificate in Education (NCE) and 6,051 Bachelor’s Degree Programmes.
He said the number of students offered admission for the year is a proof that many Nigerians, who are mostly workers can actually continue with their education through distance education system without hindrance.
He clarified that only students that have registered for tuition, examination, computer tablets, research project, teaching practice, carryover, as the case may be, can enjoy the service the institutes has to offer.
The NTI DG added that the institute has also introduced e-learning Clubs in its’ Study Centres across the country.
