A total of 4,697 students will receive their first degree certificates during the 12th Convocation Ceremony of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.
Speaking at a pre-convocation briefing, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Adeniyi Gbadegesin, stated that 33 of the graduating students bagged First Class degrees.
Giving a further breakdown, the VC said another 1,144 graduands bagged second class upper while 2,575 got second class lower. A further 692 students will graduate with third class degree.
He added that over 9,000 higher degrees would be awarded during the convocation with 140 nursing students.
Prof. Gbadegesin, who said graduates of the school were doing well, pointed to a Computer Science and Engineering graduate, Mr. Olaolu Ayoola, who recently produced a surveillance drone he designed during his National Youth Service Corps programme in Osun State.
The VC hailed the support of the governments of Oyo and Osun states and noted that the university is on the verge of a major expansion.
