About 4,714 students were admitted into the Lagos State University (LASU) during the 2015/2016 Matriculation Ceremony of the institution held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the University Main Auditorium.
Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lanre Fagbohun stated with pride that the University has produced great and exceptional minds, who have contributed immensely to the development of the Country and elsewhere.
Hereminded the matriculating students of the oath of allegiance to the University which they took, saying they must contribute positively to the development and success of the University.
The Vice Chancellor informed the audience in the capacity filled auditorium that the 2015/2016 admission exercise was transparent and largely merit driven.
Fagbohun reeled out the expectations of the Management from the students which include dedication to academic work, strict adherence to regulations, procedures to studies, amongst others.
He admonished them to shun all negative vices of cultism, prostitution, indecent dressing, involvement in drugs and other criminal activities.
He averred that such acts could lead to suspension or premature termination of studentship.
The VC congratulated the Parents and Family members of the new students. He thanked them for supporting their wards to this level and pleaded they should not relent on their oars in constantly counselling the young men and women.
