The 250-bed teaching hospital, Captain Wada explained was based on his administration’s desire to better the lives of the people through better health and other key areas necessary for good living and development as encapsulated in his administration’s transformation agenda.
The hospital, which is a two-floor building, he disclosed, would comprise major clinical areas of medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, including dentistry, pathology, sub specialty areas, bulk store and administration.
He said that the first phase of the construction would cost over N1.7 billion up to roofing stage with the internal finishing of ground floor and technical building, while another N1.7 billion had been earmarked for furnishing and equipment.
The governor promised to look into the issues of accreditation, adequate manpower, facilities and equipment needed to make the teaching hospital meets the required standard.
