Statistics gotten from the Joint
They were followed by Delta and Anambra states with 78,854 and 77,689 candidates respectively.
In a press briefing by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, he revealed that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has the lowest number of candidates with 4,085.
He added that the three North-east states, Borno, Adamawa and Yobe, have 15,692, 15,613 and 10,044 candidates in that order.
The statistics showed that there was a 10 per cent decrease in the number of registered candidates compared to last year’s UTME.
Ojerinde, however, attributed the decline in the number of applications to insecurity in some parts of the country.
