The MOU, when in operation, will be a framework for cooperative programmes in which the exchange will seek to develop academic and scientific relationships as well as support collaborative research activities between the institutions. By this arrangement, students of Federal University Oye-Ekiti can take up relevant academic programmes at Cornell University, and vice versa.
The MOU draft, with seventeen concise sections, covers a wide range of subjects from the routine issues of student conduct while on the programme to project export, insurance, project agreement and academic freedom.
Effective date of the MOU is consequent upon signature of all parties, whereas it shall expire five years after the effective date and shall be extended to accommodate any running projects until such projects are concluded.
Cornell University is acting on behalf of College of Agriculture & Life Sciences (CALS) Ithaca, USA. The Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Professor Isaac Asuzu and Professor Kathryn J. Boor are the prospective signatories to the agreement on behalf of FUOYE and Cornell University, respectively.
