FUOYE Set to Commence Medical Science Programmes.
The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has concluded plans to establish the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences in the institution with Faculties of Pharmacy and Law to follow soon.
According to the Vice Chancellor of FUOYE, Prof. Kayode Soremekun, his administration is poised to giving quality and affordable education to all citizens of the country and beyond, adding that he will leave no stone unturned to ensure smooth research learning for staff and students as well as a harmonious working relationship between the management and all cadres of staff.
The VC was speaking while receiving the report of the committee for the establishment of Faculty Basic Medical Science in the University Council Chambers today.
He appreciated the Professor Bode Fakunle- led committee for a job well done assuring the efforts of the committee shall not go in vain as the report will be carefully studied for immediate implementation.
Soremekun expressed his readiness to liaise with the necessary stakeholders such the National Universities commission and relevant Professional bodies to ensure a smooth take off of the proposed Faculty adding that he would go extra mile to provide all the needed Facilities for the takeoff.
In his remark, the chairmen of the committee Prof. Bode Fakunle appreciate the University management for finding them worthy to undertake the task.
He assured that the committee has done a thorough job in line with the terms of reference, while applauding members of the committee for their cooperation.
Prof. Fakunle said the committee recommended Five Departments for the takeoff, viz: Anatomy, Physiology, physiotherapy, Nursing and Laboratory science, adding that the management should weight its capacity if it was to takeoff with the Five Departments.
