• The Acting Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo, Prof. Hakeem Mobolaji has called on the Federal Government to allow private universities benefit from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).

    Prof. Mobolaji made this call in his welcome address at FUO end of Ramadan feast for media men.

    He said the inclusion of private universities on the TETFUND list will go a long way in assisting the institutions in delivering the much desired quality education for teeming Nigerian youth.

    Mobolaji bemoaned the present arrangement in which private varsities are regarded as profit making entities that do not qualify to benefit from the government intervention funds.

    The Ag. VC posited that this is against best practices in the world citing the UK where government assists private universities to educate the citizenry.

    Earlier at the programme, the FUO Acting Vice Chancellor urged the media men to collaborate with the institution in her quest for media publicity and visibility.
