The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida has approved the appointment of Dr. Abubakar Dzukogi as the Rector of the institution.
Until his appointment, Dzukogi was a deputy director in the institution. His appointment took effect from March, 2015.
Dr. Dzukogi got his first degree in Mass Communication from Bayero University Kano with Second Class (Upper Division) in July 1983. He had his M.Sc. (Mass Communication) from the University of Lagos in 1990.
He attended a short course in “Publish & Develop” in 1994 from the University of Edinburgh (U.K) and had his PhD (Mass Communication) in October, 2012 from Benue State University, Markudi.
The new Rector joined the polytechnic as a Lecturer III in the then Department of Liberal Arts on December 3, 1984 and served in various capacities such as Head, Department of Mass Communication; Acting Dean, School of Applied Arts and Sciences; Director, Academic Planning Unit; Director, Directorate of Continuing Education; Deputy Rector, and Acting Rector.
