The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday 8th November, 2016, commissioned Ethe do University Iyamho (EUI), as part of his two-day official visit to Edo State.
He also took a facility tour of the main Administrative Complex and the Faculty of Science – both of which are named after him.
In his welcome address, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Emmanuel O. Aluyor, said that Edo University, Iyamho aims at bridging the educational gap between Nigerian Universities and the Universities in Europe and America in terms of the provision of quality education.
The Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abubakar Rasheed in his remarks, thanked Muhammadu Buhari, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Comrade Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole for their deep passion for education.
The NUC boss also informed the audience that the NUC is encouraging Public Private Partnership (PPP) to assist the government in providing quality education for the development of the state and the country.
Concluding his speech, Professor Rasheed commended the quality with which Edo University Iyamho, has taken off.
