The management of Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Agbani has sacked about 153 lecturers from the institution without an official reason.
According to a statement signed by the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Leonard Khama, the lecturers ceases to be members of staff of the University with immediate effect.
The statement, dated 23rd November, 2015 read: “I am directed to inform you that the university is presently not positioned to employ you.
“You should, therefore, hand over university property in your possession to the Head of Department. If, however, your services are required in the future by the university, you will be informed accordingly.”
The document made available to reporters showed that the disengaged lectures cuts across various departments of the university.
