Zamfara Assembly Approves N600m For School Renovation.
The Zamfara State House of Assembly has approved the release of N600 million for renovation of five secondary schools in the state.
The legislature approved the request at plenary on Thursday following a request to the assembly by the executive arm toward education development.
While announcing the approval, the Speaker of the house, Sanusi Rikiji, said that the money would serve as part of the state government’s counterpart fund for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to improve the state’s education sector.
According to the speaker, the schools to benefit from the fund include Government Girls Secondary School, Kwatarkwashi; Government Girls Secondary School, Moriki; Government Day Secondary School, Danturai, Gusau; Government Secondary School, Maru and Government Technical College, Kaura-Namoda.
The executive request, presented to the lawmakers on the floor of the house by the House Leader, Alhaji Isa Abdulmumini, was unanimously endorsed by all the 24 members. (NAN)
