The bodies of two primary school boys, Muhammad Yusuf and Habu Dawaki, has been discovered in a pond where they went to swim last Sunday.
It was reported that the boys, who are from Madaka village in Gagarawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State, went to the village pond to swim and had not been seen since then.
According to the state Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Gidado Fari, his men and some villagers rushed to the scene when the incident was reported but could not save the boys.
The boys, who were in primary six, did not tell anybody before they left for the pond, according to the father of one of the deceased boys, Mallam Dahiru.
Muhammad Yusuf and Habu Dawaki have been buried. May their souls rest in peace… Amen.
