Ogun State College of Health Technology Admission Details.
The Management of Ogun State College of Health Technology (OSCOHTECH), Ilese-Ijebu wishes to inform the general public that the admission form into the institution for the 2016/2017 academic session is now available.
The College offers programmes/courses at Certificates, National Diplomas (NDs) and Higher National
Diploma (HNDs) levels with emphasis on primary health and other health related areas.
GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1. The admission requirements for National Diploma (ND) Programmes are a minimum of five (5) credits O/level passes, in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physic and Biology in WAEC or NECO, Ordinary Level at not more than two sittings.
2. Details of each programme requirements are explicitly stated on page 5 – 10. Applicants are advised to carefully read the requirements before making their application as error in the choice of course claims by applicants will not be tolerated.
3. Applicants awaiting results of May/June WAEC 2016 / May / June NECO 2016 are free to apply. Such applicants should indicates AR in the column for O/Level results on the Application Form.
-The admission requirements for Higher National Diploma (HND) courses / programmes include National Diploma (ND) not lower than Lower Credit in relevant course / programme in addition with the requirements stated in (1) above.
AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES
SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
1. NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) in Environmental Health Technology. Duration: 2 Years
Admission Requirement: Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes from by WAEC or NECO in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in not more than two (2) sittings.
2. HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) in Environmental Health Technology. Duration: 2 Years
Admission Requirement: Holders of National Diploma (ND) in Environmental Health Technology with at least lower credit. In addition to five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes as in 1 above.
3. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN. Duration: 3 years
Admission Requirement: Three (3) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Biology, Health Science, Geography, Chemistry from WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
4. WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND SANITATION
National Diploma (ND) in Water Resources Management and Sanitation
Duration: 2 years
Admission Requirement: FIVE(5) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any of Physics or Geography from WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
SCHOOL OF DENTAL HEALTH SCIENCE
1. NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) in i. Dental Technology ii. Dental Therapy
Duration: Two (2) years for i & ii above.
Admission Requirement: Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics from WAEC or NECO
In addition to the above requirements, Diploma in Dental Surgery Techniques is also considered for admission into NDII of Dental Therapy.
2. DIPLOMA IN DENTAL TECHNIQUES (Leading to the award of Diploma for Dental Technician)
Duration: 3 years
Admission Requirement: Four(4) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any Chemistry or Physics from WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
3. HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) IN:i. Dental Technology
ii. Therapy
Duration: 3 years
Admission Requirement: Holders of National diploma in (i) and (ii) above with at least lower credit.
SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING
1. PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING PROGRAMME
Leading to the award of Higher National Diploma of West Africa Health Examinations Board (WAHEB) Duration: 4 Semesters
Admission Requirement:
a) RN & RM/Psychiatric Nursing Certificate or Theatre Nursing Certificate are acceptable for Male candidates including Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes from WAEC or NECO including English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in not more than two (2) sittings.
b) BNSC Candidates from Universities accredited by the National University Commission (NUC), the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), and West Africa Health Examination Board (WAHEB)
2. DIPLOMA IN COMMUNITY OPHTHALMIC NURSING
(In collaboration with the Eye foundation)
Duration: 15 months
Admission Requirement: Registered Nurse & Registered Mid-Wife
3. COMMUNITY OPHTHALMIC TECHNIQUES
Duration: 3 years
Admission Requirement: Four (4) ‘O’ Level credit passes from WAEC or NECO in English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Physics. A pass in Chemistry is an advantage.
4. HEALTH ASSISTANT PROGRAMME
Duration: 2 years Admission Requirement
Five (5) ‘O’ Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and Biology and any other two subject from WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
SCHOOL OF COMMUNITY HEALTH
1. NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) IN COMMUNITY HEALTH
(Leading to the licentiate by the National Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria) (NCHPB)
Duration: 3 years
Admission Requirement
A. Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geography from WAEC or NECO
B. Certificate in Community Health (JCHEW) Programme with at least two(2) years post qualification experience plus A above
2. CERTIFICATE IN COMMUNITY HEALTH (JCHEW PROGRAMME)
Duration: 2 years
Admission Requirement: Three (3) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including Mathematics, Biology and English Language and passes in any other two (2) subjects at the SSCE by WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings
3. DIPLOMA IN NUTRITION AND DIETETICS
Duration: 2 years
Admission Requirement: Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology Chemistry and any other relevant Subject from WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
SCHOOL OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
1. NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) IN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
Duration: 2 years
Admission Requirement: Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology and other two(2) subjects from WAEC of NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
2. HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) IN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (HIM)
Duration: 2 Years
Admission Requirement: Holders of National Diploma (ND) in Health Information Management with at least lower credit level
3. DIPLOMA IN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (HIM) TECHNICIAN PROGRAMME)
Duration: 3 years
Admission Requirement: Four (4) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes including English Language, Biology, Mathematics and any other subject at SSCE by WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
4. DIPLOMA IN HEALTH PROMOTION AND EDUCATION
Duration: 2 Years
Admission Requirement
Five(5) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology Chemistry and any other subject from WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
5. DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
Duration: 2 years
Admission Requirement:
Four (4) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other science subject from WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
6. DIPLOMA IN SOCIAL WORK
Duration: 2 years
Admission Requirement: Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes from WAEC or NECO including English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any other social science subjects in not more than two (2) sittings.
SCHOOL OF PHARMACEUTICAL AND MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY
1. DIPLOMA (ND) IN PHARMACY TECHNIQUES
Duration: 3 Years
Admission Requirement: Four (4) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology from WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
2. NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) IN PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGY
Duration: 2 Years
Admission Requirement: Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes from WAEC or NECO at not more than two sittings. The five subjects must include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
3. DIPLOMA IN MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNIQUES
(Leading to the award of Diploma of the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria)
Duration: 3 years
Admission Requirement: Four (4) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology and at least Pass in Physics from WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
HOW TO APPLY
- Prospective students are to obtain their forms online after making payment through the POS machine situated at the College Bursary. OR make the payment using your ATM card.
Note: The application form is ?10, 000.00 only - After the payment proceed to http://oscohtechileseportal.com/paysetup.html to fill your form and submit.
- POS PAYMENT: Payment through POS can only be made using an ATM Card on the POS Machine domicile at the College Busary Department.
- After POS payment you will be given a Transaction ID and Payment Code that will be used to fill the Application Form online.
