The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Bello, has pledged to address the deplorable state of facilities in public primary and secondary schools in the state?.
He made the pledge while flagging -off a free surgical intervention initiative for people suffering from hernia, fibroid, appendicitis and other ailments at Bida Local Government Area.
Bello also said the state would clamp down on individuals who encroach on school premises, adding that such buildings may be demolished.
He also promised improved welfare for teachers in the state, saying that they would be adequately motivated.
“We must motivate and encourage our teachers and show that we are with them, even with the limited and scarce resources available,” the governor said.
It was reported that the free surgical intervention was sponsored by Hon. Bako Alfa and Hon. Muhammed Haruna, the members representing Bida I and II respectively in the state House of Assembly. (NAN)
