One of the newly approved private universities in Nigeria, Chrisland University, Owode-Egba in Ogun State, has appointed Prof. (Mrs.) Olusola Odeyemi of the Federal University of Technology Akure as the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Until her appointment, Prof. Odeyemi was the Head of Biology Department, FUTA.
Prof. (Mrs.) Odeyemi, a professor of Entomology, had her Ph.D. in Zoology with specialization in Entomology from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State.
She was at different times Head of Department, Biology, pioneer Associate Director, Pre-Degree Science (PDS) programme, pioneer Associate Director, University Diploma in Science (UDS) programme all in the Centre for Continuing Education and pioneer Director, Center for Gender Issues in Science and Technology (CEGIST), chairman and member of several committees of the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
She is a widely traveled academic and is happily married with children.
