Katsina State To Spend N22.2bn For Education Development In 2016.
The Katsina State Government has earmarked N22.2 billion for the development of the education sector in the 2016 fiscal year.
According to the Special Adviser to Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, on Budget and Economic Affairs, Alhaji Abdullahi Imam, 80 per cent of the budgetary allocation to the sector would be spent on the renovation of primary and secondary schools in the state.
Imam said that tertiary institutions in the state would be allocated 20 per cent of the budget for education.
He said that the government would overhaul secondary and primary education in the state to create an atmosphere conducive for learning.
“The government will use part of the funds to equip secondary and primary schools with furniture and other teaching aids.
“The government will use the funds to recruit more teachers for the primary and secondary schools in the state. (NAN)
