Kano Pupils Sponsored For Common Entrance Examination.
The Kano state government has sponsored about 5,200 pupils for the 2016 National Common Entrance Examinations (NCEE) held last week.
In a press statement signed by the Kano state Commissioner for Information, Comrade Muhammad Garba, a total of N13 million was spent for the registration of the candidates at the sum of N2,500 per pupil.
The statement further added that the sum of N22 million was spent for transport fare and feeding of the candidates.
Garba stated that 200 candidates were selected from each of the eight metropolitan local government areas of the state while 100 pupils were selected from each of the remaining 36 local governments.
The information commissioner revealed that the state government resolved to re-introduce the sponsorship of the national common entrance examination for pupils from the public school in order to fill its quota at the Federal Government Colleges across the country.
