The Emir of Daura, Umar Faruk Umar, has attributed the continuous decay in the primary education sector to the neglect of teachers’ welfare especially provision of accommodation.
Speaking when he received the management of Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in his palace, the Daura Emir, advocated a situation where the headmaster will reside within the school premises, insisting it will give room for effective monitoring.
He pledged the total support of the traditional institution for the development of the education sector.
The traditional ruler decried the shortage of teachers and attributed the increasing cases of examination malpractices to the decay in the primary education sector.
