The College of Health Technology, Pankshin in Plateau state has been granted provisional accreditation by the Registration Board of Nigeria, Community Health practitioners.
According to a letter to the college signed by the board’s Acting Registrar/CEO, Salisu Abubakar, dated November 3, 2015, the approval was sequel to the earlier recommendations of a visitation panel to the college.
The board said the institution can only admit 75 Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) and 50 Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEWs) in a session.
They however gave the college two years to address some lapses the board identified during the accreditation which includes the relocation of the college to its permanent site and provision of more offices for lecturers among others.
