The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has approved the upgrading of teachers’ grade level (GL) in the state from 15 to 16.
Obiano, who made the announcement in Awka, said that the upgrade is due to the teachers’ commitment to their duties.
He added that the list of teachers to benefit from the new GL 16 would be published soon.
In his reaction, the state chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Mr. Ifeanyi Ofodile, thanked the governor for the gesture and appealed to him to look into the promotion exercise, which left out more than a thousand staff that took the interview.
