According to the council, these three candidate emerged overall best students out of about 1,883,775 students who sat for the examination in Nigeria, Gambia and Ghana.
This was made known during the 6th annual meeting of WAEC which began on Tuesday, March 15th and ended on Friday March 18th, 2016 in Accra, Ghana.
In his speech during the meeting, the President of Ghana, John Mahama described WAEC as a dominant global brand which conducts credible examinations across West Africa.
Mahama further commended the board members and staff of the council for their commitment to excellence.
He expressed pleasure over the council’s commencement of the Basic Education Certificate Examination for private candidates in Ghana.
