DELSU Graduates 24 First Class Students.
A total of 5,811 students obtained their Bachelors degree certificates during the 10th Convocation ceremony of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, which took place on Saturday, 23rd April, 2016.
Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Victor Peretomode, said 24 of the graduating students bagged first class degree.
In a further breakdown of the results for the 2014/2015 academic session graduating students, the VC said 1,123 students graduated in second class upper category, while 3,222 obtained second class lower division.
He noted that the university produced, 47 Ph.Ds, 431 Masters, 243 Post Graduate Diploma and 485 with Diploma certificates.
Peretomode also stated that the best graduating first degree student, Mr Marcus Ifeanyi of Department of Mathematics bagged First Class Honours with 4.86 Cumulative Grade Point Aggregate (CGPA).
The VC commended the Delta state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his support and said that the university had obtained 93 per cent accreditation for its programmes.
