The provost of the Oleh Campus of Delta State University, Prof Benjamin Okaba, has said that the Engineering Faculty of the institution is about to loose its interim accreditation due to lack of facilities and manpower.
Okoba while stating among others that the faculty has not admitted new student for the past three years, said the challenges facing the campus have been quite enormous, and appealed to the state government to come to the aid of the school.
The faculty, according to him, has acute shortage of qualified staff as the Civil Engineering department has only four permanent staff with a lecturer 1 as Head of Department.
He called for urgent attention to prevent the faculty from being closed.
