BUK Matriculates 7, 343 New Students for 2019/20 Session.
A total of 7,343 newly admitted students of Bayero University Kano (BUK) for the 2019/2020 academic session took their matriculation oath during a ceremony held on Thursday, 5th March, 2020.
Speaking during the matriculation ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of BUK, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello, said the university is being transformed through the provision of facilities aimed at improving learning and teaching environment.
Prof. Bello congratulated the new students for being admitted after passing through rigorous screening and examination exercises, saying that “you should count yourselves lucky for gaining admission into one of the most inclusive and cosmopolitan universities in Nigeria with students from every state of the country. We also have students from many foreign countries,” he said.
He cautioned the inducted students to strictly observe the University’s rules and regulations and be of good character, as well as dress decently.
Bello explained that the University Council has recently approved Codes of Ethics for all members of the University community. “The Codes set the ground rules for all members of the community to interact ethically and decently with one another and with the wider community they serve,” said the Vice Chancellor.
The VC however drew the attention of the students that the University Senate would verify the entry qualifications of each and every one of them and those found to have used fake/forged document would be expelled in accordance with the University’s regulations.
The Registrar, Fatima Binta Mohammed facilitated the session as she invited the Deans of all the faculties to call their respective students to rise for the purpose of matriculation.
