Professor Mohammed Yahuza Bello, on Tuesday emerged the new Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, after beating other candidates in an election.
The new VC, who was the former Director, Project Monitoring and Evaluation of the University got 834 votes to defeat his closest rival, Prof. Mohammada Sani Sule, who got 116 votes;
Other candidates who contested for the position are Prof. Mohammed Abdullahi, 36 votes; Prof. Muhammad Dahiru Suleiman, 102 votes; Prof. Lawal Danladi, 17 votes; Prof. Kamilu Sani Fagge, 61 votes and Prof. Abdulraman Adejo Audu, 17 votes.
Prof. Bello after being rectified by the university’s Governing Council and the presidency will succeed the out-going Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed who has spent five years as Vice Chancellor of the University.
