The Governing Council of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has approved the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor for the institution.
The new VC is Professor Ibrahim Garba. He will replace the incumbent vice chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Mustapha, whose tenure expires April, 2015.
Prof. Garba who was born on February 25, 1957 in Riruwai, Doguwa Local Government Area of Kano State, had his first and second degrees at ABU between 1980 and 1985. He earned his Ph.D at the University of London in 1993.
He earlier served as the Vice Chancellor of the Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil and also the head of the Geology Department, ABU.
Congratulations to Prof. Garba on his new appointment. We wish him a fruitful term in office.
