No fewer than 6,012 students took their matriculation oath at the Abia
The students were admitted into the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the institution respectively.
Speaking at the matriculation ceremony, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Chibuzor Ogbuagu, urged the fresh students to shun cultism as the university has zero tolerance for all forms of misconduct, including examination malpractices.
He admonished to always remember the reason they were in school and put God first in everything they do.
Ogbuagu advised the new students to always dress decently throughout their stay on campus.
The VC used the occasion of the 33rd matriculation ceremony to announce his exit from office as he told his audience the event was the last he would preside over as vice chancellor.
