Prof. Ajibefun gave the assurances during a meeting with all the staff of the University last week.
He said, “I had stated my vision for the University on assumption of office. I am restating it now – to build on what is on the ground, consolidate the past achievements, add value and take the University to greater heights.”
The VC also revealed that the University is currently carrying out reforms that would make the University better. He enjoined all members of staff to show understanding and cooperate with the Management while such reforms last.
He said work would soon begin on the following TETFUND-sponsored projects: Faculty of Education Building, Faculty of Arts Administrative Building, two 300-capacity Lecture Theatres, 900-capacity Lecture Theatre and provision of furniture/installation of gadgets for the new 30CQ Lecture Theatre.
The VC, who had earlier noted that the essence of the meeting was to reason together as a workforce and think up creative ideas that could make the University better, said the interactive meeting would be a continuous exercise.
While thanking the VC for not reneging from his promise of giving adequate attention to the welfare of staff and students of the University, some members of staff who spoke during meeting also pointed the attention of the VC to some other areas that require quick attention.
Prof. Ajibefun, who also met with the students in the following day, said the University would remain committed to he well-being of the students, and urged them to continue to be peaceful, responsible and diligent.
