The Ondo State Government has approved the appointed of a new Vice-Chancellor for Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba following the expiration of the tenure of former VC, Professor Femi Mimiko.
The new Vice Chancellor is Professor Igbekele Ajibefun who until his appointment was the Rector of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, in Ondo State.
He was born on 28th July, 1964 and attended the Federal University of Technology Akure, where he graduated with a First Class Honours degree.

Ajibefun began his academic career in 1993 as an assistant lecturer, from where he rose to become an Associate Professor in October, 2006.
He is a registered member of the European Society for Soil Conservation, Ajibefun is also a member of the International Association of Agricultural Economists, the African Economic Research Consortium, the Asian Society of Agricultural Economists, the Nigerian Economic Society and the Nigerian Participatory Rural Appraisal Network.
