Nsukka College of Education Graduates Inducted Into Teaching Profession.
Over 400 graduates of The College of Education Nsukka (TCEN) in Enugu State has been issued operational licenses by the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) of the Nigerian during an induction ceremony held recently.
Speaking at the event, the Registrar and Chief Executive TRCN, Prof. Josiah Ajiboye said the students are graduates of Certificate in Education (NCE) and Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
He said the induction,which is the fifth of the college, was a prerequisite for confirmation of professional teaching status on the new teachers.
He stressed that it is a stage every teacher must pass through before being considered as qualified to teach in Nigerian schools.
Ajiboye, who was represented at the ceremony by the Director, Professional Operations of the Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru Roni, said it was only through the process of induction that quacks and unprofessional teachers could be eliminated from the profession.
The TRCN boss added that the process also engenders new spirit in teachers and enhances qualitative planning and administration of the teaching profession.
