• The University of Ilorin is set to commence a staff/students exchange programme with the University of Georgia, Atlanta, USA.

    The Director of African Studies Institute, Georgia University, Dr. Akinloye Ojo, made the disclosure during a courtesy visit to the Unilorin Vice-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON) in his office.

    The documents of the MoU were signed during the visit by the Vice-Chancellor and the visiting Georgia University don.

    Dr. Ojo, who is an Associate Professor of Comparative Literature, University of Georgia, described University of Ilorin as a viable partner saying that the relationship between the two institutions has been very fruitful and result-oriented.

    In his response, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Ambali, said that the University of Ilorin was keen on partnering Georgia University, adding that the arrangement would deepen the relationship between both institutions.

    Prof. Ambali said that the University was favourably disposed to such collaboration in the course of advancing knowledge, adding that Unilorin would soon open its researchers’ lodge to visiting scholars.

    The Vice-Chancellor thanked the visiting scholar for promoting the country’s culture and values through his scholarship.
