• Over 5,000 fresh students took their matriculation oath at the 2014/2015 academic session matriculation ceremony of the University of Benin.

Speaking at the event, which took place last month, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Faraday Orumwens, warned the new students against engaging themselves in activities capable of truncating their dreams.

He urged them to pay attention to their academic activities as their success at the university would be measured by their grades.

The Registrar, Mrs O.G Ogboghodo, while administering the matriculation oath on the students, enjoined them to consider the ceremony as a formal admission into the university.
