NABTEB Partners Secondary Schools on Skills Acquisition for Employment
The National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) has said that it would partner with secondary schools across the country to promote skills acquisition and make school leavers employable after graduation.
In a statement by the Registrar and Chief Executive of NABTEB, Dr. Olatunde Aworanti, he said that the partnership was prompted by the need to prepare and empower school leavers for the harsh economic realities.
He pledged the support of the board to certify secondary school leavers in basic trades, through its various certificate examinations in order make them self-reliant and reduce youth restiveness in Nigeria.
“The need for school leavers to be equipped with survival skills that will enable them cope with emerging challenges of the current technological age cannot be over-emphasized”, Aworanti said.
He also urged managers of secondary education to play a complementary role by integrating vocational and technical subjects into their school curricular.
