• The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has denied cancelling the awaiting result option for candidates applying for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to a statement released by the examination body via their official twitter handle, candidates with awaiting o’level results can apply but they must have gotten their results at the point of admission into their institution of choice.

The statement read: “If you apply with Awaiting Result at the point of registration, your result must be available while you go for admission screening.

“JAMB will not deny any candidate the right to quality education. Please don’t be misguided. Part of the earlier press statement was misunderstood.

“You have from May up to August to upload your result. At the point of admission we would have sieved our records and any candidate who has not uploaded his or her result at that point, is not eligible for admission.

“We have a good number of candidates who have written their exams in years past and they have their results ready waiting for this process, we will factor those ones and the few ones that will get their results before August.

“During registration those with results will be uploading their results, while Awaiting Result candidates will not upload anything”, the statement concluded.

It would be recalled that their had been reports that JAMB scrapped Awaiting result for candidates vying for admission this year.
