DELSU Student Dumps Baby in Toilet Pipe
A female student of Delta State University, Abraka, who gave birth to a baby girl, has allegedly dumped the baby in a toilet pipe, hoping the baby would be flushed down the pipe.
The sad event which took place last Friday has it that the frustrated mother, who is yet to be identified, left the baby inside the toilet and fled the scene.
However, the baby was rescued when students in the area who heard the cry of the child raised an alarm immediately and firemen were called to the scene to break the baby out of the pipe.
Reacting to the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu, said that the police were on the trail of the undergraduate whose name could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
Kalu assured that the police would do everything possible to fish out the fleeing nursing mother.
