Covenant University Scales New Heights in Webometrics Ranking
The quality of academic engagement and delivery in Covenant University has seen the University leapfrog many first-generation universities in the country and the continent as validated by the latest edition of Ranking Web of Universities also known as Webometrics Ranking, released on July 31, 2014.
In Nigeria, the University came 2nd position from the earlier ranking of 10th, while still maintaining her position as the best private university in the country.
A look at the various parameters in the ranking shows that the University came tops over other universities in Nigeria in almost all factors under consideration. Covenant University did well in terms of Web Presence, Impact, Openness and Excellence Rankings.
Speaking on the feat, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Ayo, said, “The current ranking is a validation of our right steps in the right direction, as the University is poised to become one of the top ten universities in the world.”
According to him, “By the next ranking, the University is expected to capture Nigeria and Africa in general.”
